The theme of the 2010 contest was “My Life in a Smoke-free San Antonio.” Students were asked to portray positive images of how the recently revised City of San Antonio public smoking ordinance will impact the community.
With the help of school teachers across Bexar County, more than 500 students submitted artwork. On December 8th, 27 students were honored for their thought-provoking and colorful work. The winners’ artwork will be featured in a 12-month 2011 calendar that will educate the community about the dangers of tobacco use. Honorees received prizes donated by Metro Health and local businesses, including school supplies, gift certificates, movie and bowling passes, and a pizza party package.
